Read these great tips from Bumbleride owners on flying with Indie, Indie Twin, Indie 4 and Flite. We’ve included a few of the most popular airlines’ stroller policies to help prepare you for your trip. Bon voyage!
Since you are going to need to fold your stroller at some point to get on the plane, bring an extra empty tote or bag to hold your cargo basket and other goodies.
Label your stroller with name and contact information. There are usually tags at the gate or check in if you need one.
Buy a stroller travel bag to protect your stroller or at least bring a trash bag to help protect the fabric while it’s loaded and unloaded.
“A travel bag is awesome if you plan on checking the stroller. If you use a bag at the gate you will have to either carry the stroller in the bag or carry the empty bag…” - Kendra R.
We love seeing organizations rally support for conservation, recycling and cleaning up local waterways or beaches. Thank you Surfrider Foundation, Wildcoast, Ocean Minded, I Love a Clean San Diego, San Diego Coastkeeper and Sustainable Coastlines! This year we took some time off from work to help keep one of our local beaches clean for future generations. With the help of our staff, beach go-ers, local moms and a few little helpers we were able to remove 15lbs. of assorted trash and hundreds of cigarette butts! Thank you so much to those who joined us in cleaning up the beach! If you want to join a beach cleanup or offer your support, check out one of the organizations linked above.
With the new year comes a chance to adjust thinking and prioritize things in our life. Why not make a point to slow down and take notice of nature and our beautiful earth. Also allowing opportunities to teach our children to be in tune with our senses and give way to “Pause”. A perfect way to do this is to stop and look up more. Your kids will love it and it provides quality moments together in your day. Whether it be noticing the clouds together or being aware of the full moon calendar we are sure you will all benefit.

Nothing raises our awareness of our environment, the food we eat and the products we use than when we bring a child into the world. This Earth Day we want to point you to a great resource that we think you will find invaluable. Healthy Child Healthy World, http://healthychild.org/healthy-living/resources/books/. Written by Christopher Gavigan, co-founder of The Honest Co. along with Jessica Alba, https://www.honest.com/. This book gives you clear advice for setting up a non-toxic nursery to reducing allergens and lead in your home and garden, how to shop for organic produce and eliminate harmful plastics. The list goes on but you will definitely benefit from all that you will learn and better your environment for your whole family. The more that do this on an individual level the healthier our families will be and the cleaner our beautiful Earth will stay!
Every once in a while, someone can create something new out of something well known. Kilian Martin is a professional skateboarder who’s doing just that. Growing up in Spain, he studied gymnastics as a child, which helped him create his own individual style when his passion turned to skateboarding. Living locally in Southern California, he’s combined old school freestyle with street skating to put him on a level all his own.
Being from San Diego where the climate is usually warm year-round, we often find ourselves hiking outside or visiting our local parks and playgrounds. We came across this incredible playground in Sydney, Australia while searching for more locations.
Blaxland Riverside Park was designed by JMD Design who wanted to create an open-air space, free from a feeling of enclosure. Not only is it bright and interactive but it seems to integrate wonderfully into the surrounding landscape.
Inspired by what was affectionately called “Banana Boards” in the late 70’s, Stereo owners Jason Lee and Chris Pastras have introduced the Vinyl series boards. A great first board for kids that you dads will find tempting to swipe for a cruise to the neighborhood market.
As parents, we are lucky because our children give us a heads up on happiness. But what is it that truly makes people happy? Documentary filmmaker Roko Belic explores that question as they search different countries, tribes and villages for the secret to life greatest emotion. Belic said making this film changed his life, he moved to be closer to his family and friends and took up surfing, a past time that he used to love doing.
“Prioritize the people you love in your life and prioritize your happiness,” he advises. “It’s good for everything else you care about—your health, your longevity, your work and your relationships.” You can find the documentary here and on Netflix
” The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) is a collaboration of national public service organizations, professional medical associations, and government agencies working together to promote breast cancer awareness, share information on the disease, and provide greater access to services.
Since its inception more than 25 years ago, NBCAM has been at the forefront of promoting awareness of breast cancer issues and has evolved along with the national dialogue on breast cancer. NBCAM recognizes that, although many great strides have been made in breast cancer awareness and treatment, there remains much to be accomplished. Today, we remain dedicated to educating and empowering women to take charge of their own breast health.” – http://www.nbcam.org/
