Life with kids can mean little time for personal reading, but some of the latest editions in our house are “Parenting From the Inside Out,” “Animals – A Visual Encyclopedia” and “All The World”.
“Parenting from the Inside Out” – “This book uniquely pairs the clinical experience of a psychiatrist with the deep wisdom of a nursery school teacher. Together Siegel and Hartzell delicately peel back the many layers of parenting to reveal the pure nature of the relationship
at its core.”- Neal Halfon, M.D.
“Animals – A Visual Encyclopedia” – Our children, ages ranging from one year old to seven, all love this great encyclopedia filled with great photos and facts about animals.
“All The World” – A sweet bedtime story that touches on the simple things in life. We love the illustrations.

We all love to get back to the basics and while many children’s products are still being made to be bigger and shinier, we think this simple tree swing makes us want to be kids again. The Original Tree Swing is a family owned and operated business born from the desire to create creative play for children and the young of heart. All their products are made from local reclaimed wood and natural fibers. If your child isnt into the tree swing stage yet, we recommend their Castle blocks or every bigger boys dream: the old time sling shot.

A few of us in the office had a great idea of meeting for lunch on the first Friday of each month. We did a raffle and are picking a new spot every month. Today we ended up at Station in South Park. A fun, comfort food restaurant in a cool little pocket of San Diego. The food was delicious and there is a cute little play area for the kids.

As the weather continues to cool, we parents sometimes need a little inspiration for indoor play. The Crafty Crow is an online collective of craft project found on weblogs of creative people who either have, or work with, children. Its extensive category list helps you navigate through the website with options starting from children’s ages to seasonal craft projects.
We love the ideas of reusing basic household items that are usually thrown away like this plastic lid hanging mosaic and these adorable cardboard tube marionettes. Visit Crafty Crow and start your indoor family fun!

We all want to show our children the world and now you can give them a glimpse with Globe Genie. Using Google Earths 360 degree cameras, creator Joe McMichael lets you teleport to places all around the world. You can narrow your destination down to a specific continent or just let Globe Genie do the traveling. On our adventure we saw penguins in Antarctica and then ended up on a small island in the East China Sea, where we spotted a group of preschoolers all wearing the same adorable yellow sunhat while out on a walk with their teachers. Sit down with your little ones and see the world!

Purchasing bottles and sippy cups for your little can be quite confusing with so many options on the market. It’s scary to think of all the junk in so many products including bottles still available today. Because of their focus on the use of clean plastics, we think you should have a look at Think Baby.
We recommend the starter kit that includes four bottles as well as stocking up on the sippy cup conversion kit.
You will love knowing their products are chemical-conscious with your baby’s developing body in mind.

We think teaching our toddlers their ABC’s and 123’s while introducing them to the iconic imagery of Charley Harper creates a truly unique learning experience. Charley Harper also creates coloring books, puzzles and learning games that are fun for the whole family.
