Most recently, we are relishing Brian Wildsmith’s books.

He is a classic writer and illustrator of many children’s books from the 1960’s onward. As a father of four children, he strongly believes that “beautiful picture books are vitally important in subconsciously forming a child’s visual appreciation, which will bear fruit later in life.” He hopes young people will wonder at the world and appreciate the beauty in nature.

After a recent visit to our local library we were able to pick up five of his most popular books. We are not sure who enjoys the detail of his paintings more, the children or us as parents.
We don’t envision ourselves ever growing tired of the light and color in his beautiful art work.
