We were honored that Sonnet James chose our Bumbleride Indie Twin in Silver Black for their New York Fashion Week trip. The stroller proved to wear multiple hats for them and we love the photos. Check out their amazing trip, playful dresses (new line launches November 8th!) and cute baby Leif.
“When we were planning our New York trip, we kind of dropped the ball on getting everything we needed for our sweet baby Leif while working on fabrics, samples, designing, and planning the entire shoot, hair and makeup, hotel stay, and flights for our ever growing team. So when we panicked that we didn’t have a stroller, we searched for the perfect system that would meet our needs and compliment our brand. When we came across the Bumbleride Indie Twin, it was exactly what we had in mind! Even with one baby, we knew we’d need plenty of room for our equipment, dresses, cameras, and LOTS of water bottles. The customer service was incredible and worked with us to flawlessly get the stroller to us in a serious time crunch. And even when it was super hot and stuffy, we could open up the flaps for better air flow and more comfort for our littlest team member. Since we left our hotel in the morning and didn’t get home until dark, our Bumbleride was also his crib, which worked out perfectly since each seat lays back to a completely reclined position. Maneuvering the streets was smooth and easy and we can honestly say, from experience, that it saved our backs and feet, and since we didn’t have to wear a tower of hats and six layers of coats each just to get around, it also kept us as cool as we could get in Manhattan’s September heat. Thanks for coming to our rescue, Bumbleride!!”
For many of us at Bumbleride, the ocean is our playground. So when this new children’s book, The Surfing Animals Alphabet caught our eye, we were excited to check it out.

Landfill Harmonic is an amazing film about a music teacher and a group of children who are growing up in a slum in Paraguay that is built on top of a garbage landfill. The film shows how they have been able to take everyday trash and transform it into instruments that make beautiful music, while transforming the children’s outlook on life. Truly Inspiring! Nurseries tend to be a quiet and interesting place for your little one to call home and there’s no question that one of the most important (and iconic) items for a new nursery is the mobile. Mobiles are magical. There’s nothing like seeing your baby gaze up and follow the shapes, colors and movements in the sky.
Mobiles are also expensive. If you’re looking for something modern, simple and elegant, they can easily run up into the $50-$100 range. Some of our favorites are the Frazier & Wing as well as the Schmitt Design mobiles, available at Fawn & Forest (www.fawnandforest.com).
If you’re the DIY type of parent, you can create one of these beautiful installations by using two wooden dowels, colored papers or foams and clear twine. The simplicity of this one we found online is stunning.
Inspired by what was affectionately called “Banana Boards” in the late 70’s, Stereo owners Jason Lee and Chris Pastras have introduced the Vinyl series boards. A great first board for kids that you dads will find tempting to swipe for a cruise to the neighborhood market.
During nine months of what can become a clothing crisis, we can look to Hatch Collection http://hatchcollection.com/ for keeping our ever expanding waistlines looking stylish. Hatch clothing is uniquely designed to go beyond your pregnancy and keep you feeling elegant and modern. Flowing silk or jersey fabrics fit all occasions and for every piece of clothing sold, $5.00 is donated to Every Mother Counts, http://www.everymothercounts.org/ founded by Christy Turlington Burns. This Charity is active in raising awareness about global maternity mortality and educating women worldwide.
Every parent can agree, that time just goes by too fast when you’re raising children. That’s why we love this time lapse video by Frans Hofmeester, who filmed his daughter every week from birth up until twelve years old. It’s truly amazing to watch her transform from a tiny baby to a chatty preteen.
